Beşiktaş Football Team made the groups by winning a 4-1 victory against Malmö in the 1st round rematch in the UEFA Cup. The goals were scored by Youla (on 28th and 53rd minutes), Ali Güneş (on 34th minute) and Metin Tümer in the extended time. 

Youla kicked the smart pass coming from Kleberson on 28th minute from the left wing without hesitation and scored a goal, and thus he both put Beşiktaş 1-0 leading and scored his first goal in Beşiktaş team. Ali Güneş who passed the opponent defense and the goal keeper and came down to the line kicked the ball from a point diagonal to the goal and increased the score to 2-0
Beşiktaş which made a good start in the second half was leading 3-0 on 53rd minute thanks to great goal by Youla. Malmö trimmed the gap to 2 after Alfonso scored the free kick on 61st minute (1-3). Seconds remaining in the game, Tümer Metin kicked the ball, which Kleberson had sent him via a perfect pass, immediately and scored the last goal of the game (1-4). Beşiktaş remained in the UEFA Cup thanks to this triumph.
