Beşiktaş Football Team lost 1-0 against the Swedish team Malmö in the first game of the 1st tour of the UEFA Cup. Rematch will be played on September 29th in Sweden.

Beşiktaş began the game with an aggressive football but could not score the goal which it looked for in the first 45 minutes. Malmö could not perform any risky attack in the first half. The first half was completed with 0-0 score.
The Black & White team, which made a very fast start and performed serious attacks one after another in the second half, almost blockaded Malmö’s goal. However, Malmö scored the goal on 71st minute thanks to the head kick by Afonso Alves (0-1). Since Beşiktaş could not score any goal in the remaining minutes, the game ended 1-0 Malmö leading. Rematch of this game will be played on September 29th at the Malmö Stadium in Sweden.
