Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team took the 4th place in the tournament which they participated in Italy. Coach Murat Didin said “The result obtained in the tournament is not important. We formed the best team of the recent years. Beşiktaş’s name will also be mentioned on the way to championship”.

Beşiktaş, which went to Italy for the quad tournament, was defeated 61-60 against the home team Scafati with a last second basket in its first game. The Black & White team won 65-63 victory over Zadar of Croatia in the 2nd game and lost 81-71 against the Italian Roseto in the fight for the 3rd place and therefore wrapped up the tournament in the 4th place.

Beşiktaş played a preparatory game with Rimini team of Italy and left the basketball courts in this game 65-63 defeated.

Our Coach Murat Didin said in the statement he made to our web site that the result obtained was not important, and added as follows:

“What is important for us is that our team gets ready for the season and begins the season fully prepared. We participated in this tournament as less than fully prepared, even when our expatriate players had just joined our team. Our purpose here is to play against tough teams, against teams which defend well and learn how to fight.”
