Beşiktaş Football Team matched with Swedish team Malmö in the 1st stage of the UEFA Cup. First game will be played in Istanbul in September 15th whereas the return game will be played away in September 29th. 

The lots of the UEFA Cup 1st stage in which 80 teams would compete were drawn in Monaco. Malmö of Sweden became the opponent of Beşiktaş which joined in the 6th group as the top seed. Our Football Team will advance to the groups if it could pass the 1st stage that would be played according to the two-game elimination system.
