New transfer of the Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team, Tyrone Ellis gave his first interview to BJK TV. Ellis said “Their support will fire me up” while talking of Beşiktaş fans with praise.

Tyrone Ellis who had drawn the attention of everybody with the basketball that he displayed with Coach Murat Didin’s ex-team German Opel Skyliners and signing a 1 year contract with Beşiktaş expressed his feelings to the microphones of BJK TV. Here are Tyrone Ellis’s first statements:
First of all, what was the reason in accepting Beşiktaş’s offer?
I got excited when the offer came in since they had a great season. I really was happy. I got couple of options on the table when my manager conveyed the offer. I finally made up my mind and came to Beşiktaş.
You received the offer, thought about it; how long did it take you to make this decision?
It took four days and I consulted my family. I thought about the city and coach. Murat Didin is a great coach. He is the kind of person who looks after you a lot. Turkish people are generally like that anyhow. That is why I am here. Beşiktaş is a very big family and I am here to be a part of this big family.
Since you have mentioned Murat Didin, how do you describe him as a coach?
Murat Didin is very entertaining yet very serious. He always wants to win. He was my coach last year. I know that winning is his passion. This is also valid for me. I hate losing. I am here to be a better player and develop myself at the end.
What do you know about the quality of the Turkish league and think about it?
I do not know much actually. I know Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Efes Pilsen and Ülkerspor. Beside these I do not have any idea about the league. However I await anxiously for the season to start.
OK, do you have any idea about the city, culture and environment?
Everybody that I had talked said very nice things about Istanbul. Antonio Granger, Markus Brown who had played for Efes Pilsen before liked this city a lot. This was a major factor in my coming. Since Istanbul has similarities to America.
Do you have any information regarding the Turkish spectators? Do you know the fans of Beşiktaş?
Beşiktaş fans are great. This will push me to play better and work harder. I shoot at every game as usual. However their presence will encourage me to defend better. Our fans will also be delighted with this. I will return the energy that they would provide me in this manner. I look forward to meet the fans of Beşiktaş, talking to them and the new season.
