Beşiktaş Technical Director Rıza Çalımbay replied reporters’ questions on transfers, infrastructure and the preparation camp in the press conference which he organized.
Çalımbay answered the questions concerning Carew as “Carew is not going anywhere. He would go only if he receives a substantially attractive offer. If we send him, we have to get a player better than him” in the pres conference organized at BJK Nevzat Demir Facilities. Çalımbay said that the Norwegian player has been receiving offers but none of them were at the aforesaid level, and underlined that they wanted to continue with him in the next season also.Çalımbay, who reminded that Sergen’s transfer was clarified, said that the player had promised to him and the Board of Directors that he would increase his performance, and stressed that he trusted Sergen.
Preparation Camp
Çalımbay stated that the preparation camp to be organized in Australia has been very important for them, and added that the necessary pre-camp work has been continued. Çalımbay said that they would play a game against an inferior team at the end of the first 10-day period of the camp, and they would play against Köln, Banik Ostrava, Partizan and Eintracht Frankfurt in the second 10-day period of the camp. Çalımbay told reporters that the number of players who would go to the camp would probably be 30.
Infrastructure Activities
Concerning his thoughts on the project related to the infrastructure, Çalımbay said that he was considering using some of the names, who were at Beşiktaş during his period and whom he thought would be useful, for strengthening purposes. Çalımbay also said that they had planned to open a football school where goal keepers would be trained.
