Beşiktaş: 78 - Efes Pilsen: 73

Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team carried the series over to 2-1 through beating Efes Pilsen at the 2nd game of the final series after a terrific competition.

The Black and White fans that had completely filled the stands of BJK Akatlar Sports and Culture Complex at which the game took place played an important role in the victory by their support given to their team. Efes Pilsen obtained the score superiority in the first period with its successful defense and superiority in rebounding. Beşiktaş also having many turnovers conveyed Efes Pilsen to a lead of 13-6 after the first 5 minutes. Beşiktaş found successive points via Khalid El-Amin’s successful performance afterwards. Beşiktaş that had been successful in defense progressed to a 15-13 lead with 3 minutes 20 seconds left in the period. Beşiktaş concluded the first period as victors with a score of 21-17.
Beşiktaş that had overcome Efes Pilsen’s zone defense via successful set offenses in the beginning of the 2nd period struggled to run back in defense. Beşiktaş pushed the lead out to 13 with a score of 43-21 in the 15th minute of the game in which El-Amin scored 21 that was equal to Efes Pilsen’s scoring within 15 minutes. Beşiktaş concluded the first half 51-30 up with the 3 point field goals that it had converted during the final seconds of the period.
3rd period set off with mutual baskets. Within the first 5 minutes section the defenses stood forefront, whereas El-Amin and Varda were very effective in fast breaks for Beşiktaş. Efes Pilsen on the other hand tried to reduce the deficit by the baskets that it had produced in the paint. Both Beşiktaş and Efes Pilsen produced points with fast breaks during the final 2 minute period. 3rd period was concluded with Beşiktaş’s lead of 64-46.
There was a great contention in the 4th period. Efes Pilsen scored consecutive points in the first minutes, whereas Beşiktaş failed both in defense and offense. Efes Pilsen cut the deficit to 8 points with a score of 66-58 with 6 minutes remaining in the game. Beşiktaş won the game 78-73 with Andrew Ellis’s contribution in the final seconds and converted foul shots.
Beşiktaş reached its first victory in this series with this result and carried the score over to 2-1.
