Beşiktaş MADE THE FINALS

Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team claimed 83-77 victory over Ülkerspor in the Play-Off semi-final series, had 3-1 lead in the series and made the finals.

Close to 5,000 fans cheered for Beşiktaş throughout the game with great joy. Ülkerspor scored points in the first few minutes of the game with baskets by Vukçeviç and Kerem Tunçeri, and was in 10-6 lead by the end of 4th minute. But, El-Amin put Beşiktaş ahead 16-13 in minute 6 with the series of 3-pointer baskets he scored from that point on. The Black & White Team wrapped up the 1st period 25-19 leading thanks to points scored by Varda and Bekir.
Beşiktaş, which was good in defense in the beginning of the 2nd period, extended the lead to 16 points at 40-24 in the 15th minute as a result of 15-5 points scored by El Amin, Murat Yolcu and Andrew Ellis. Then, Varda reached to his 3rd foul, and was taken out of the game. Beşiktaş had some difficult time in defending under the rim in the remaining minutes of the game. Ülkerspor began cutting the gap thanks to a series of baskets scored from under the rim by  Zukauskas, however closed the period 48-39 behind since they could not stop the 3-pointer scored by Brett Maher in the last second.
Ülkerspor began trimming the deficit in the 3rd period thanks to the points scored by Stombergas and Vukçevic. The home team decreased the gap to 5 points (57-52) with the basket scored by Zukauskas in the 27th minute. However, Beşiktaş pushed the deficit to 14 points (68-54) in the 29th minute with the consecutive baskets made by Ellis and carried a 68-58 cushion into the final period.
The Black & White team made a good start in the final period also, and widened the gap to 16 points (74-58) in the 33rd minute thanks to Varda’s baskets. But, while Beşiktaş had difficult time scoring points in offense from that minute on, Ülkerspor scored 15 points within 6 minutes  thanks to 3-pointers scored by Stombergas, Praskevicius and Vukçeviç , vs. 5 points by Beşiktaş, and trimmed the gap as low as 6 points (79-73) with one minute remaining.
Beşiktaş did not allow closure of the deficit in the last minute and left the game as victorious 83-77 with the baskets scored by El-Amin, led the series 3-1 and made the finals.
