Beşiktaş: 74 - Ülkerspor: 73

Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team grabbed 74-73 victory over Ülkerspor in the first game of the semi-finals in the play-offs thanks to the miraculous 3 pointer scored by El-Amin in the last second and took the lead 2-0 in the series.

Beşiktaş, which had started the series 1-0 leading since it had won both games against its opponent in the league, began the game with Ratko Varda, Nedim Yücel, Khalid El-Amin, Brett Maher and Haluk Yıldırım. Beşiktaş, which scored points in the first minutes thanks to its quick attacks, lost the ball several times. Ülkerspor balanced the score thanks to Zukauskas and Kerem Tunçeri. Beşiktaş took 11-6 lead in the first 5 minutes. The Black & White team scored points one after another in its attacks with Varda and Nedim, but could not prevent the points scored by Ülkerspor through outer shots. Ülkerspor trimmed the gap with 8 points scored in the last three minutes and the first quarter was wrapped up with 20-17 Beşiktaş leading.
Ülkerspor took the lead with 20-21 for the first time in the first minutes of the second period. While Beşiktaş was ineffective in offense, Ülkerspor found points in a row thanks to  Kerem Gönlüm. Even though Beşiktaş was in the lead with 25-23 in the 13th minute, Ülkerspor finished this period 31-37 leading thanks to points scored in the last minutes.
In the 3rd period; zone defense performed by Beşiktaş made it difficult for Ülkerspor to score,  Beşiktaş scored points with El-Amin, Varda and Nedim, and Zukauskas scored for Ülkerspor. While Ülkerspor was better in offense rebounds, Beşiktaş closed the scores through fact paced attacks, and this period ended with Ülkerpor 53-54 leading.
Having made a good start in the 4th period, Ülkerspor increased the margin to 5 points (53-58) with points scored one after another. Beşiktaş leveled the score with 58-58 thanks to lay-up baskets scored consecutively by El-Amin. The final minutes of the fight almost kept  everyone breathless. Ülkerspor was successful in offense rebounds particularly with Kerem Gönlüm but could not stop Besiktaş taking the lead 66-65 with 2 minutes to play. A tactical war took place in the final 30 seconds of the game and Beşiktaş was 71-76 behind with 3 seconds remaining. Khalid El-Amin, the successful player of the Black & White Team, scored a 3-pointer in the last second and ensured Beşiktaş’s  74-73 triumph over Ülkerspor.
Beşiktaş is in 2-0 lead after this victory. The Black & White Team will make the finals if they win the game to be played on Sunday.
