Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team beat Tuborg that it had defeated in the two preceding play-off 1st round games also in the 3rd game in İzmir 85-78 and caught the 3-0 lead and advanced to the semi final.

Beşiktaş that had started the game by covering under the rim very well distressed due to Ratko Varda that had been displaying a high scoring performance being sidelined after receiving 2 fouls against him and due to the points Tuborg had found with Barış-Jensen duo. Beşiktaş was 24-18 down at the end of the period however started the 2nd period well and first caught its opponent and then took the lead. Black and Whites of whom El-Amin had contributed not only in offense but also in defense went to the locker room 40-38 up.
Black and Whites that had started the 3rd period with Bret Maher’s effective perimeter shots, Nedim Yücel and Ratko Varda’s effective game in the paint, increased the deficit to 12 points in the 25th minute of the game Tuborg tried to cut the deficit however this period finished with Beşiktaş’s 63-55 lead.
Beşiktaş found points with El-Amin, Erkan Veyseloğlu and Ratko Varda in the final quarter and pushed the lead back to 11 points with 4 minutes remaining (65-76).
