Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team went 1-0 ahead in the 1st game of the 1st round of the Play-Off by beating Tuborg 97-77.

Beşiktaş made a fast start in the 1st game of the Turkish Basketball League Play-Off quarter final. The Black and White Team passed the 5th minute up by 15-2 by defending well and producing both inside and outside baskets in offense. Beşiktaş which kept on scoring points with Varda and El Amin against its opponent which was performing badly in offense pushed the deficit to 15 points (23-8) in the 8th minute and wrapped up the first period 25-14 leading.
Tuborg which pulled itself together in the second period scored points with Cizmic, Sanders and Barış, defended effectively and thus cut the gap. İzmir Team, which leveled the game at 30-30 by Barış’s basket in the 15th minute, scored easy points under the rim and widened the gap to 6 points (38-32) in the 18th minute. Beşiktaş recovered in the final 2 minutes to play and equaled the score at 41-41 thanks to El-Amin’s last second 3-pointer.
Making a good start in the second half of game,  Beşiktaş predominated over Tuborg thanks Varda’s points under the rim and to Erkan’s contribution in the score  and led the 3rd period 66-56 with a 10-point margin.
The Black and White team that continued its dominance also in the final period and that displayed a very comfortable game increased the deficit further. Beşiktaş being effective with Varda, El Amin and Ellis left the game as victor with a score of 97-77 and 20-point deficit and went up 1-0 in the series.
