The Captain of the Beşiktaş Team, Şenol Demirağ said \\"Beşiktaş’s work has not been respected here today\\" in his statement following the Turkey Cup Finals game. 

In his statement, Şenol Demirağ declared, "Beşiktaş's work has not been respected here today. Beşiktaş came closer to winning the cup than it had for years. However, I believe that some unknown powers wanted Beşiktaş to fail in the league for some reason. The unfair defeat of the Beşiktaş Women’s Basketball team has not been good moment in the game. If they do not want us to be in the league, there is not much that can be done."
In the press conference following the game, Coach Aziz Akkaya criticized Serhat Büker’s refereeing of the game:
"First of all, I congratulate my team. We are a newly established team. However, in spite of this we competed very well. I believe we were unlucky in losing the game. To some extent, I especially believe the referee Serhat Büker made Fenerbahçe win the game. I congratulate our rival since they were the victors in the end. They badly wanted to win, but there was only one person responsible for our loss in this game. I condemn Serhat Büker here, since he did not referee the game fairly. This is why we lost the game. No referee can steal the toil and sweat of the people that worked so hard here. They should not have such a right. I sincerely thank all of Beşiktaş fans and the people of Diyarbakır who supported us here."
