Rule Violation in Beşiktaş-Gençlerbirliği Game

Turkish Soccer Federation Central Referee Committee announced that Referee Kuddusi Müftüoğlu committed a rule violation in the Beşiktaş-Gençlerbirliği game played on Sunday February 6, which ended 1-1. The Committee made the following announcement at the end of its review:

“The Central Referee Committee concluded that Referee Kuddusi Müftüoğlu committed a rule violation in the Beşiktaş-Gençlerbirliği game played on the evening of Sunday February 6.
In his after-game report, the Referee Kuddusi Müftüoğlu stated that he blew the first whistle to start the game when Gençlerbirliği scored their goal, then he blew the second whistle for Beşiktaş’s Tayfur Havutçu violated the wall and he allowed the goal by blowing a third whistle as the ball traveled towards the goal.
The Game Observer Taner Yalçındağ confirmed in his report that Referee Müftüoğlu blew 3 whistles. In line with this opinion stated by Central Referee Committee as per procedures, Soccer Federation Board of Directors will give their final decision on the game in the meeting they will hold this weekend.”
