Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team having the
great support of its fans beat Ülkerspor   and ended the first half of
the league with 24 points and average advantage in the second rank.


A magnificent atmosphere was witnessed in BJK Akatlar
Sport and Culture Complex before the clashing match of two candidates of the
league championship. Beşiktaş fans filling the stands crowdedly have provided a
great support for the team with their cheering

Beşiktaş starting the game with the first-five of 
Khalid El – Amin, Bekir Yarangüme, Andy Ellis, Ratko Varda and Haluk Yıldırım,
has been distressed due to simple turnovers and the first 10 minutes period of
the game has proceeded with the dominance of Ülkerspor with the score of
21-12

In the second quarter Beşiktaş has managed to bring the
score difference down with the points of Khalid El – Amin, Albert Mourning and
Bekir Yarangüme. Attacking efficiently in the last seconds of the second quarter
Ülkerspor has headed for the changing room with the dominant score of
37-30.

Beşiktaş having hard times in the first minutes of the
3rd period has not allowed Ülkerspor bring the score difference up and has drawn
ahead in the last 2 minutes 20 seconds of the game with the score of 44-43. With
the last second point, Ülkerspor has ended up the first half ahead with the
score of 45-44.

In the last quarter of the game there was a great
struggle. Beşiktaş managing to keep its successful defense also in the last
quarter has replied to the points of its competitor, with the points of Ratko
Varda and Khalid El – Amin. Drawing ahead the last 1 minute of the game with the
score of 59-58 has won the game with the great support of its fans with the
final result of 64-59.

Beşiktaş, with this win, has increased its point to 24
and managed to bring the score difference down  against its competitors
Efes Pilsen and Ülkerspor which are running on the path of championships. While
Efes Pilsen is leading with average points, Beşiktaş has secured the 2nd rank
whereas Ülkerspor has remained the 3rd.
