Being 1-0 defeated in the 6th minute with Faruk’s penalty goal against Ankaragücü in road game, Beşiktaş won by 4-1 with the goals of John Carew, Mustafa Doğan, İbrahim Akın and Juanfran.

Beşiktaş started the match with pressure on the opponent, but refree Oktay Demiray whistled a penalty kick upon İbrahim Üzülmez’s action against Guel in the penalty area in the 5th minute and the score was 1-0 in favour of Ankaragücü with the goal by Faruk Namdar. The action against İbrahim Üzülmez in the 16th minute in the penalty area gave way to a penalty kick. Beşiktaş equalized the score to 1-1 with the goal that came from penalty kick by John Carew. Black-White team were 2-1 ahead with Mustafa Doğan’s tip to header ball of Emre Aşık during extra-time of the first half. In the 64th minute, John Carew passed the ball to İbrahim Akın in the penalty area and the score became 3-1. The last goal of Beşiktaş was from Juanfran in the 86th minute. This goal went into records as the first goal of the Spanish player in Turkey.
