Women’s Basketball heads into New Year with a precious home win

Lady Eagles grind out a 73-70 win over Istanbul University

Starting with a lineup consisting of Wiggins, Nihan, Jokic, Esra and Hoffman, they trailed 16-14 at the end of first, but with the help of bench points from Yasemin Horasan, took a 39-32 lead  into the break.  

The second half saw the visitors chipping away at the deficit, but Beşiktaş were still up by two, 56-54, after three quarters of play. The score went back and forth in the final stanza, but a pair of clutch free throws by Wiggins secured the victory for our Lady Eagles. Hoffman led Beşiktaş with 18 points while Wiggins poured in 15.
