Şenol Güneş


Born on 1June 1972 in Trabzon, the former Turkish international goalkeeper started his football career at the Akçaabat Sebatspor before joining the Trabzonspor in 1972 where he spent 15 successful years. After retiring from active football, he became a manager and coached Trabzonspor, Boluspor, Istanbulspor, Antalyaspor, Sakaryaspor, Seoul and Bursaspor. Between 2000-2004, he was the Manager of Turkish national team and finished third at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, the highest ranking Turkey ever achieved so far. In 2002,, Güneş was chosen “the Manager of the Year” by the UEFA. He signed with Beşiktaş JK in 2015.
