It was a rarely seen goal-duel in the first half. Tammy Abraham put Beşiktaş ahead after 18 minutes when he fired a rocket from close range. Few minutes later, Vaclav Cerny hit the back of the net with a splendid low effort to make it 2-0 for the visiting Black Eagles. The hosts Trabzonspor answered back with Ernest Muçi on 25 minutes, but Cerny found the net again after 31 minutes to give his side a 3-1 lead going into half-time interval. El Bilal Toure received a red card during the closing stages, therefore Beşiktaş had to continue with ten men in the second half. Playing with a man advantage, Trabzonspor piled on the pressure after the restart and brought the deficit down to one through Christ Inao Oulai’s deflected shot in the 63rd minute. Then, six minutes from time, Oleksandr Zubkow levelled the scores at 3-3 for good.
