Black Eagles came out all guns blazing, and two close-range goals from Rafa Silva and Vaclav Cerny put them 2-0 in front just after ten minutes. The visitors regrouped and pushed to reduce the deficit, only to see the solid Beşiktaş defence keep them out going into the break. Kocaelispor managed to pull one back through Tayfur Bingöl at the outset of the second half, but Oleksandr Sirota’s own goal in injury-time handed the hosts a 3-1 win and sent the home crowd into a frenzy.
