Hoping to reduce the point gap with their Super League leading visitors, the Black Eagles applied early pressure, but the Galatasaray weathered the storm and managed to take a goalless draw into the break. Looking much more determined, Beşiktaş opened the second half with a goal from Cenk Tosun who took advantage of goalkeeper Muslera’s mistake and tapped the ball home from close-range. While the visitors were trying to recover, Dusko Tosic doubled the Eagles’ lead on 70 minutes with a bullet from inside the box. Then Alvaro Negredo scored a solo effort and helped Beşiktaş run out 3-0 winners.
