Demba Ba saves the day for Beşiktaş once again

Beşiktaş  started the better side and broke the deadlock after 30 minutes with an Olcay Şahan goal. The Black Eagles went on to preserve that one-goal advantage going into the interval.

The visitors Mersin İdman Yurdu looked more offensive at the outset of the second half as Sinan brought the sides on level terms in the 61th minute. However, the determined Beşiktaş regained the lead within minutes when Demba Ba put them back in front with a close-range deflected shot. Mersin searched for the equaliser in the remainder of the match, but Beşiktaş held on to run out 2-1 victors.
