Almeida’s hat-trick fires Eagles to away win

Antalyaspor 3-5 Beşiktaş

The Black and Whites started like a house on fire and went ahead after 5 minutes when Almeida headed in a perfect cross from Mehmet Akgün. Thanks to Isaac, Antalyaspor levelled on 21 minutes, but another Almeida header coming 3 minutes before half-time put Beşiktaş into a 2-1 lead at the interval.

Three minutes into the second half, Eagles made it 3-1 with Olcay’s powerful effort from the penalty area, only to see the home side pull one back through Diarra two minutes later. Then in the 69th minute, man of the match Almedia completed his hat-trick by converting Oğuzhan’s brilliant pas from close-range and restored the Eagles’ two goal advantage at 4-2. However, the resilient Antalyaspor were not about to lie down as Ömer Şismanoğlu reduced the deficit once again on 83 minutes. They even came close to equalising in the closing stages and hit the crossbar on one occasion, but a stoppage-time Fernandes bullet from outside box smashed their hopes for a draw. This precious win lifted Beşiktaş to 5th place on the Turkish Super League table. They are now only 3 points off the top.
