Beşiktaş 3 – 0 Gaziantepspor

In the first leg of Turkish Cup semifinals, Beşiktaş overpowered visitors Gaziantepspor, 3-0, at the Fiyapı Inonu Stadium tonight.

The match started evenly with neither side exerting any kind of sustained pressure. The Eagles eventually gained control of midfield and began to push forward more, but the visitors’ defence stood their ground as the first half ended in goalless draw. 

The early part of the second half was not much different than the first with the teams battling for possession in midfield until Simao put Beşiktaş ahead with a superb free-kick on 65 minutes. The goal seemed to fuel the Eagles’ apatite for more as they went two goals up with Almedia’s 70th-minute header. But the Black and Whites were not done yet. Five minutes later, Simao scored his second from close range giving Beşiktaş a three-goal advantage for the second leg in Gaziantep.
