Beşiktaş won the Turkey Cup Championship

Beşiktaş Football Team became the owner of the Fortis’ Turkey Cup by winning against Fenerbahçe at the final cup game by a victory of 3-2 at the end of the game extensions.

The final game of the Turkey Cup for the 2005-2006 football season was played at the İzmir Atatürk Stadium. Beşiktaş scored two goals at the first half of the game with Tümer and Gökhan Güleç. And in the second half of the game, Fenerbahçe leveled the score at 2-2 with Alex and Mehmet Yozgatlı and the normal period of the game was completed with equal scores. Tümer Metin scored the goal which put Beşiktaş ahead for 3-2 on the 113rd minute of the game extensions and Beşiktaş is now the owner of the Turkey Cup for 2005-2006 season.

Mehmet Ali Şahin – State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister – gave the Fortis’ Turkey Cup of the 2005-2006 season to Beşiktaş’ captain Sergen Yalçın. Black & White footballers took a championship stroll with the Cup around the stadium.
