Beşiktaş mark the National Day of China at Vodafone Park

Beşiktaş JK, who had opened up to China through to a short visit and an exhibition game this summer, celebrated the 68th anniversary of National Day of The Republic of China with a series of special events on October 1st.    
 
To strenghten their efforts to become a globally-recognised multi-sport club, Beşiktaş JK hosted Chinese Ambassador to Ankara Mr. YU Hongyang and his staff at the Vodafone Park before the Club’s Super League match against the visitors Trabzonspor.
 
Beşiktaş JK Vice-Chairman Ahmet Nur Çebi, Deputy Chairman Deniz Atay, General Secretary Ahmet Ürkmezgil,and Board Members Hakan Özköse and Umut Kutlu greeted the Chinese quests at the stadium and showed them the Beşiktaş JK Museum. To honour the October 1st Chinese Republic Day, a special plaque was presented to the Chinese delegation.
During the presentation, Beşiktaş JK Vice-Chairman Nur Çebi added: “It is a great honour to welcome the Ambassador YU Hongyang and his staff to our Vodafone Park. To be with our Chinese friends on their special day is also another privilege for us. We will try to strengthen the Turkish and Chinese relations in sports through joint activities. We also hope that the supporters in China will get to know and like us more in the near future.”
 
Ambassador Hongyang responded: “By Clebrating our National Day, Beşiktaş JK have shown that they are true friends to us. Besides, the friendship between Turkey and the People’s Republic of China dates way back. I like Beşiktaş and their players on the team.” Then the visitors were taken to a VIP Box to watch the Beşiktaş v Trabzonspor Turkish Super League match.              
Then all the advertising and video screens located in and around the stadium marked the Chinese National Day with warm messages in English and Chinese until the kick-off time.

Beşiktaş JK Chairman Fikret Orman also attended the events and said: “We are trying to become a world-class club with over 100 million supporters around the world. China is the place where we have started our campaign. Today, we are going to celebrate the Chinese Republic Day with our Chinese quests and thousands of Beşiktaş supporters at the Vodafone Park. We hope to build a strong bridge between Turkey and China on many other fronts as well.”
