League leading Beşiktaş suffer season’s first loss at the packed Arena

Roared on by a vocal home crowd, Black Eagles opened with a starting five of Can, Williams, Zoran Erceg, Ersin and Kemp but struggled to find their usual offensive rhythm, trailing 20-14 at the end of first. Thanks to a string of three-pointers by Deron Williams they managed tie the game at 37-37 with 3:45 to go in the second quarter, only to see the visitors put together a late rally and take a 49-39 lead into the break.

Erdemir kept the margin intact at 67-57, after three quarters of play, en route to a narrow away victory, which ended the Black Eagles’ five-game winning streak. Ersin Dağlı was the top scorer for Beşiktaş with 18 followed by Williams and Erceg who contributed 16 points each.
