Beşiktaş Cola Turka 91, Mersin Metropolitan Municipality 71

Beşiktaş Cola Turka Men’s Basketball ended the first half of the season with a 91-71 rout of visiting Mersin Metropolitan Municipality.

The Black Eagles made a flying start into the game at Akatlar Cola Turka Arena and stormed to a 17-6 lead midway through the opening quarter. In the closing stages, Nedim Yücel and Grier tried to close the gap for the visitors from outside, but Cevher Özer’s buzzer-beater three-pointer made sure that the home maintained a comfortable cushion, 27-13, entering the second. The Black and White carried the momentum into the second frame and used a 10-0 run to stretch the margin to 37-13 after four minutes. The remaining minutes saw Mersin Metropolitan Municipality rally back behind Sacales and Christmas but still trail 53-37 at the halftime break.
Thanks to consecutives buckets by Chatman, Ogilvy and Ignerski, Beşiktaş Cola Turka kept its lead in double digits throughout the third and was up, 64-42, at the halfway point. Despite their huge lead, the Eagles were in no charitable mood as they took a 71-53 advantage into the fourth quarter. The Black and White were never threatened in the final stanza as it coasted to an impressive 91-71 home court win.
