Beşiktaş Cola Turka 66, Erdemir 64

In Week 10 postponed action, visiting Beşiktaş Cola Turka battled out a 66-64 victory over Erdemirspor at Erdemir Sports Hall on Wednesday.

Stepping out with a first five made up of Mustafa Abi, Michael Ignerski, Mire Chatman, Cevher Özer and James Ogivly, the Eagles were tied, at 9-9 midway through the opening quarter but surged ahead 20-15, heading into the second.
Beşiktaş Cola Turka started to shoot well from behind the arch in the second frame and was up, 31-26, at the halfway point. The host tried to erase the deficit with a late spurt in the closing stages, but the Black and White managed to stave off all onslaughts and take a 39-34 edge into the break.
Erdemirspor displayed tenacious at the outset of the third and crawled within 44-41 with 5:00 remaining on the clock. While the Eagles struggled to put points on the board, the home team began to dominate on both ends, knotting the score at 51-51 after three hotly-contested quarters.
After trading buckets and staying close in the early part of the fourth, Beşiktaş Cola Turka pulled ahead 62-56 on a Mire Chatman layup with 5:05 to play, only to see Erdemirspor tighten up on defense once again. Then a barrage of three pointers by Erkan Veyseloğlu trimmed the deficit down to 2 points at 64-62 entering the final minute and half. The remainder of the stanza was a real thriller for both sides as the game was tied once more with 23 seconds left to go. But Oglvy nailed a jumper at the buzzer and helped Beşiktaş Cola Turka sneak out a 64-62 win on the road.
