Tofaş 94, Beşiktaş Cola Turka 72

Visiting Beşiktaş Cola Turka dropped a 94-72 decision to Bursa City team Tofaş in Week 12 game of the season.

After Allen Iverson nailed a jumper to open the scoring, the Black Eagles rode the hot-hand of Cevher Özer to take a 7-4 lead two minute into the game. Tofaş recovered quickly and surged ahead 16-7 halfway through the quarter. Beşiktaş tried to get back into the game but was unable to stop the host from pouring it in from outside as the margin grew to 28-9 with 2:00 remaining on the clock.  While the Black and White was struggling to overcome nerves and a loud cheering from the home crowd, Nichols capped a late Tofaş spurt to give his team a 33-13 cushion, heading into the second.
Sparked by Austin’s fast-break points, the green and whites seized complete control in the second frame as they pushed the lead to 43-19 with 3:33 left. With Beşiktaş Cola Turka’s defense in total disarray, Tofaş padded its lead to 29 points, 52-23, at the 17th-minute mark en route to an impressive 59-35 first-half advantage.
In a second half frequently disrupted by rowdy fan behavior, the Eagles got a string of jumpers from Mire Chatman and James Oglivy early on and were able to reduce the deficit below 20 points at times but still trailed 77-52 after three quarters of play.
The fourth stanza was much more an even affair with the home team up, 83-63, after three minutes. Despite Tofaş’s insurmountable lead, the bad blood between Beşiktaş Cola Turka and frenzied Bursa City fans continued, and the officials had no other choice but to stop the game for 15 minutes because the crowd was warned for the third time. The demoralized Black and White never recovered after the restart as it fell 94-72 to Tofaş in a game nobody would want to remember much.  Allen Iverson, who had his most productive game in Turkey, finished with a game-high 26 points.
