Beşiktaş Cola Turka 74, Panküp Kayseri Şeker 63

In Week 4 action, the visiting Lady Eagles overpowered Panküp Kayseri Şeker, 74-63, at
the Kadir Has Sports Hall on Sunday.

The game got off to an even start with the host Kayseri establishing a 10-8 advantage midway
through the quarter. The close score continued till the end, as Beşiktaş Cola Turka held a 22-
21 edge heading into the second. After Aynur Metin drilled a three-pointer for the home team
to open the second frame, Black and White got consecutive layups from Yasemin Horasan
and Salkauske to pad its lead. But Bahar Öztürk responded with a barrage of threes which
made it sure that the visitors were not going anywhere. Then, Johnson stepped in and sank a
string of late jumpers for Kayseri Şeker as the host took a 37-33 halftime lead into the locker
room.
The lady Eagles started the second half with Yasemin Horasan’s layup and stayed within
reach rest of the way. With 6:30 to go in the third, the teams were locked in a 41-41 tie. In the
closing minutes, Sales teamed up with Marques and Nilay Kartaltepe to put together a 6-0 run
that put the Lady Eagles up by one, 52-51, entering the fourth.
After Bahar Öztürk and Sales traded three-pointers to start the final stanza, Beşiktaş Cola
Turka took advantage of Kayseri’s turnovers and began to run away with the game following
an 8-2 run. Kayseri tried hard to close the gap down the stretch, but Beşiktaş Cola Turka
withstood all attempts en route to a 74-63 win.
Sales finished with a game-high 22 points followed by Nilay Kartaltepe (16), Marques (14),
Salkauske (8), Yasemin Horasan (8), Santos (4) and Lucie Melek (2).
