Beşiktaş defender İbrahim Toraman and keeper Cenk Gönen shared their thoughts with the press after the derby match:

İbrahim Toraman: “We are all delighted with the win. It is not easy to beat a formidable side like Galatasaray on their home ground. After finding an early goal, we decided to drop back and play counterattack. Apparently, this tactic paid off well for us as we took home all three points without much hassle.
Cenk Gönen: “I think I did not disappoint our fans tonight. I dedicate this precious win to all our fans who are not with us right now. After so many up and down weeks, they should sit back and enjoy this one. I also thank my teammates for a nearly flawless performance.
I should have stopped Harry Kewell’s header with ease, but the ball took a funny bounce in front of me, hit my shoulder and went in. Luckily, it came too late and didn’t affect the final outcome. I forgot about it already and looking forward to my next match. A goalkeeper should have a fish memory sometimes. I am new in this profession and have a lot to learn.”
