Beşiktaş Cola Turka women’s basketball suffered an 81-63 upset to the visiting Mersin Metropolitan Municipality in a Week 6 action of the season at theAkatlar Arena.

The teams traded baskets throughout the opening quarter and stayed close to each other, until Nilay nailed a 26-foot three-pointer from the left wing to cap a late Mersin rally that put the visitors up by six. But the Lady Eagles refused to let their hopes fade away as they battled back with back-to-back jumpers to crawl within 19-18 at the end of first. After Kelly Silva Santos made a bucket for Beşiktaş Cola Turka to start the second frame, the visitors from Southern Turkey used a late 6-0 run to take control of the back-and -forth contest and enjoy a 10-point, 40-30, cushion at halftime.    
Mersin Metropolitan Municipality opened the third with a flurry of baskets from Mokango, Tuğçe and Melike and outplayed the Lady Eagles with an all around team effort, which pushed the lead to 58-46 going into the final stanza.  Sailing comfortably along on a double digit lead, Mersin never looked back in the fourth to walk off the floor with an 81-67 win on the road.
