After the match, Beşiktaş Manager Bern Schuster assessed his team’s performance for the press:

“We had a flurry of chances to win this match comfortably, but somehow we managed to waste most of them. If we want to go all the way this season, we can’t afford to miss so many goals in one game. Unfortunately, our defence did not look at their best out there either as they gave away far too many chances. We must drastically improve on these departments, and we must do it soon. Since I am only responsible for my players and not our fans, I cannot comment on their behaviour. They have every right to express their feelings, but let’s not forget, this league, like any league in Europe, will end on May, and we have a long way to go until May.”
