It was another historic night at the Arena on Tuesday as Beşiktaş welcomed Allen Iverson with a laser- light and music show. 

Thousands of boisterous Eagles’ fans packed the seats to witness their new star’s signing ceremony while sports media photographers scrambled to take his picture and a number of TV channels carried the event live. Beşiktaş cheerleaders also put on a great skit and got the crowd fired up.
Beşiktaş board members Erdoğan Toprak, Fahrettin Curoğlu, Serdar Adalı, Doğan Küçükemre, Ahmet Akpınar, Şeref Yalçın, Necip Ersever and the Head of Beşiktaş Family Advisory Board Mrs. Reyna Demirören all attended the party.
When the former NBA star, wearing his number-4 jersey, finally appeared on the floor with Michael Jackson’s song “Jam,” the crowd virtually went wild. Iverson then walked up to the fans and waved at them in a gesture of thanks before leaping on the stage prepared for the event to start the signing process.
Beşiktaş Deputy Chairman Erdoğan Toprak, sitting next to Iverson, delivered a short speech before the contract signing got underway:
“No doubt, we are all delighted to have one of NBA’s most decorated players on our team. I’d like to thank our Chairman Yıldırım Demirören and board members for their support in making this signing possible. Let us not forget,  NBA stars such as Allen Iverson help build not only our own club but clubs around the nation because they serve as good role model for young ball players. They are also hard to come by so we must learn as much as we can from them while they are here. We must also be patient with them because it takes time to adapt to a foreign country and its culture. We hope to have our own home-grown stars one day. Mr. Iverson’s presence in our country is certainly an inspiration in that direction. I wish him good luck and all the best here.”
The club’s Executive Board Member Responsible for Amateur Sports Şeref Yalçın also addressed to the fans:
“There is no need to introduce Allen Iverson here because you all know him. In few words, in addition to being an 11-time All-Star, he is one of the most prolific scores in NBA history and has won the scoring title four times, second only to legendary Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan. It is a great honor to have you on board Mr. Iverson. Welcome to Beşiktaş! 
Allen Iverson was last to speak:
“First of all, I thank everybody for brining me here. You have given me a second chance to prove myself, and I’ll do my best not to let you down. I also thank Beşiktaş fans for their warm welcome. They’ve made me feel at home. Today, I had my first practice with the team and can’t wait to see how much we can accomplish working together. I can’t promise we will win every single game, but I guarantee you’ll get your money’s worth every time we play out there.  In order to achieve this, we will work our hearts out day in and day out. If you want to see quality basketball this season, you must come out and support us.”  
After the signing was over, the trio held their hands together and greeted the fans as a flurry of white confetti rained down on the crowd to the background of Michael Jackson’s music. Then, Iverson showed the fans some of his moves on the floor, leaving their jaws dropped and bringing the whole affair to a magnificent conclusion. The Cola Turka Arena has never seen such a signing ceremony in its entire history.
