In an expected move, Beşiktaş has signed Portuguese midfielder Ricardo Quaresma, with whom it has been negotiating since the end of the season, from the European Champion Italian side F.C. Internazionale Milano.

Ricardo Quaresma was born on September 26, 1983 in Lisbon City.
The 1.73m tall Portuguese player, also known as Ricardo Andrade Quaresma Bernardo, had played for Sporting Lizbon, Barcelona, Porto, Chelsea and Inter Milan before coming to Beşiktaş. During 2001 through 2003 seasons, he scored 13 goals for the Sporting Lisbon side in 67 matches. But during the 2003-04 season, he managed only 2 goals for his new team Barcelona in 26 matches.
Then the Portuguese returned home and spent four outstanding seasons with Porto, netting 32 goals in 112 matches. Quaresma got transferred to Inter in 2008, where he found the back of the net only once in 24 starts. He was loaned to Chelsea for the 2009-10 seasons but didn’t get much playing there, heading back to Inter before the end of season.
Quaresma had won the Portuguese League, Cup and Super Cup once with Sporting Lizbon. He also has a FIFA World Clubs Championship Cup, 3 Portuguese League Championships, 1 Portuguese Cup and 2 Super Cups under his belt with Porto.
He also enjoyed a UEFA Champions League, 1 League and 1 Italian Cup titles at Inter. While playing on loan for Chelsea, his team captured the prestigious FA Cup.
In 2005 and 2006, he was named “The Player of the Year” in Portugal. The talented midfielder was also a Portuguese “Golden Ball” winner at Porto in 2007.
