E.Pilsen:78 Beşiktaş: 68

Beşiktaş Men’s Basketball Team was defeated 78-68 against Efes Pilsen in the 4th game of the Play Off final series, played at Abdi İpekçi Sports Hall and completed the series 4-1 behind. Beşiktaş made the 2nd place in the season. 

Beşiktaş began the game with the following line-up: Erkan Veyseloğlu, Haluk Yıldırım, Khalid El-Amin, Andrew Ellis and Nedim Yücel. Both teams could not score points in the beginning of the game and the first basket was scored by Erkan Veyseloğlu of Beşiktaş as the first minute of the game was over. The game was interrupted often in the first 5 minutes due to fouls, and Ermal Kurtoğlu of Efes Pilsen and Erkan Veyseloğlu of Beşiktaş were effective up to that moment. Teams had difficulty in scoring points in the first period which witnessed a great contest between the teams, and Efes Pilsen was leading 16-14 as the period ended.
The 2nd period of the game began very fast. At first, Efes Pilsen scored a 3-pointer and increased the margin to 5 points, and then the score was balanced thanks to a 3-pointer by Bret Maher and a basket by Bekir Yarangüme of Beşiktaş (19-19). Beşiktaş which continued its effective performance took the lead 22-19 in the 12th minute. Beşiktaş had difficult times against tall players of the rival team in defending under the rim, but closed this gap by its fast attacks and awesome performance. Efes Pilsen wrapped up the first half 37-36 leading. 
The score was 40-40 in 22nd minute after the Black & White team responded to Efes Pilsen’s baskets by two successful free throws of the young player Eren Beyaz and El-Amin’s basket. Afterwards, Efes Pilsen led the score to 46-40 in 25th minute since Beşiktaş was not successful in outer shots and also had gaps in its defense. After El-Amin was injured and taken outside the court, Efes Pilsen scored points in a row and finished the 3rd period 57-49 leading. 
Beşiktaş began the last period with desire to score without given up the fight. But, Beşiktaş was not very effective at the opponent’s rim with absence of El-Aim who had been injured. Efes Pilsen, which at one point increased the gap to 11 points, won a 78-68 victory in spite of Beşistaş’s efforts to trim the gap, and became the champion with 4-1 in the series.  Beşiktaş wrapped up the season in the second place.
